B i o g r a p h y

When my band director asked me in seventh grade if I wanted to play an oboe, I wasn't sure what he meant! Now I know, and I can't imagine life without an oboe.

Is it ever too late to learn more? I believe not. I went back to the university in 2006, after many years away from school, and majored in Music and Education, earning my Master's in 2009. I studied flute, but also instrumental pedagogy, giving me experience with brass, woodwinds, percussion and keyboards. In 1994, I  needed a humanities credit, so took a semester of harp. Lifelong learning enriches us. I bought a saxophone in 2008 and have enjoyed playing several seasons with Al Bedoo brass band and participated in an Arts without Boundaries  jazz improvisation class.

I'm looking forward to more ensemble work with the group in the photo.
